FAQ

Questions about cape.

How cape fits into leave operations, how coverage works, and what your HR team can expect from the product.

What does cape do?

cape gives HR one place to manage employee leave from the initial request through return to work. It brings together employee context, rules and recommendations, timelines and adjustments, documentation, communications, and the case record so the work stays coordinated.

Is cape designed only for California?

No. cape is designed to support employees in all 50 states.

Does cape replace HR judgment on leave decisions?

No. cape is designed to support HR, not replace it. The system can surface relevant requirements, calculate timelines, flag missing information, organize work, and help prepare communications, while determinations remain with HR.

How does cape account for our company’s own leave policies?

Employer Policy is a first-class layer in cape’s rules model. Company-specific benefits, practices, workflows, and requirements can be applied alongside federal and state or local rules so the case plan reflects how your organization actually operates.

Does cape connect to our HRIS?

Yes. cape integrates with 70+ HRIS platforms, and we’re happy to accommodate HRIS providers we haven’t already integrated with.

Do employees and managers need to use a new portal?

No. We’ve designed cape so you can keep using your usual communication channels with employees and managers.

What parts of leave management can cape help automate?

cape is built to take more of the repetitive work out of leave management while keeping HR in control. We’re expanding what cape can automate every week as the product gets smarter and more capable.

How is pricing determined?
